A surveillance system by Hikvision, the world’s leading supplier of innovative video surveillance products and solutions, is providing security for the education facilities of the Government of Gujarat Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) across Western India.

"The Hikvision IP-based surveillance solution illustrates what can be achieved with large-scale integration,” said Pinkal Shah, asset manager - Technical Support at Prama Hikvision India, in a Hikvision corporate case study. “The Hikvision iVMS-5200 software enables 43 campuses to be monitored easily and reliably, encompassing central video management, integration and a failover mechanism.”

The security system uses Hikvision’s Center Video Record (CVR) mode, which eliminates the need for an intermediate storage server, improving storage efficiency and system stability while reducing hardware costs, Shah added.

A mix of more than 1,200 Hikvision network bullet and dome cameras secure campus lobbies, classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, exits and entrances as well as gates and parking lots for the DTE.
