In its recently released "Security 50 Ranking and Reports" a&s magazine announced that Hikvision took the No. 1 position for the second year in a row with 2016 revenue of $4.6 billion.
Hikvision is placing the importance of localized support and service to its partners and users at the forefront of its operation – as well as spearheading the development of the latest security technology solutions, such as artificial intelligence (AI), according to a Hikvision corporate press release about the ranking.
The a&s report highlights that Chinese companies such as Hikvision are leading the marketplace. Hikvision’s 2016 revenue of $4.6 billion represents growth of 29.2 percent, up from $3.6 billion in the prior year.
Since 2003, the a&s team has collected financial data every year to determine winners for the ranking of the top 50 companies in the physical security space. Rankings are based on which company has the largest market share in the global market or the highest product shipment to its global partners, according to the a&s website.
